The Times Need to Change

It's time for a change.

With the way the times are, we are living in a different world. Over the last 20 years, our culture has really changed. As a nation, we need to get our priorities straight. Things like inflation, the economy, protecting a woman's right to choose, climate change, immigration, gun control, our military, senior citizens and more are things to take care of. But to me, our children are the most important thing. No one is thinking about the future of our nation and our world. It begins with our children. Period.

I just don't know about this world we live in today. The world I grew up in 50 years ago has gone. It's just a memory. Change is good. People should embrace change. This country is definitely changing. But from what I've seen, especially over these last few years, people are only willing to accept change if it fits what they want. That's not good. It's time to shake things up. It's going to take non-politicians to go to Washington and represent the people to change things.

This is a primary reason I'm running for U.S. Congress in Missouri's 4th Congressional District.

I'm not your regular politician. I have no political experience. I just want everyone to come together. That's what it's going to take to make this country great again. I define myself as a liberal conservative. Most people don't know what that is. Growing up in a red district, a conservative area I call home, I have deep conservative roots. However, at the same time, I'm very liberal and open minded. Even though I have many conservative values from living in this district, my 35 years of experience in the entertainment industry has opened my mind to liberal values. This combination of both sides serves me well in representing our people.

Another thing that has to change is money in politics. In our world, it's all about the money. Times are hard. Harder than ever. People need to keep their money and use it to help themselves and their families. This is one reason I'm basically running a self funded campaign. I'm actually encouraging people not to donate if they can't afford it. Who does that? There's so many politicians who don't care about their people. They care about serving the ones who back them financially. This is how it's been for years. This has to change.

Even though I'm not related to President Harry Truman, I agree with what he said, “The Buck Stops Here”. It's as simple as that. A lot of people have asked me if I'm related to President Truman. I'm not. I am from his hometown of Lamar, for what that's worth.

There's so many issues that need to be tackled. With how the times are, I can think of so many things that need to be done in our country, that if I talked about an issue every day, a different issue could be covered until Election Day. Focus needs to be made on certain things. The most important thing in our world is our children. They are our future. Their health and safety needs to come before anything. Online education needs to be embraced. Another major thing is childhood obesity. It's an epidemic. It's also child abuse. It's up to us to make a start protecting our children.

Other major topics that need to be addressed include inflation and the economy, protecting a woman's right to choose, gun control, climate change, immigration, protecting our senior citizens and honoring our military. It's going to take everyone working together in Washington and putting partisan politics aside to figure out what we need to do.

The times need to change. And it begins with shaking up Washington with regular people who are not politicians.

Truman Wins Primary

TRUMAN WINS CAMPAIGN

Will Face Alford in November General Election

Lamar, Missouri – The primary is in the books. The dust has settled. Change will come to Congress in November.

Jack Truman won the Democratic primary for U.S. Congress in Missouri's 4th Congressional District. He'll face Mark Alford, who won the Republican primary in a crowded field.

Truman, a non-politician, is running a self-funded campaign. He actually encourages supports not to donate to his political campaign. “Keep your money”, Truman said in media materials. “This campaign is not about the money. It's about serving the people. You shouldn't have to pay anything for someone to serve you. We're living in hard times right now. Use your hard-earned money to help your family. Use it for food, gas, or to buy something for your children. This election will be about wealth versus the common person. Politics is all about money. We need to get away from that. I'm proud to be self-financing this campaign to give voters a real choice”.

Truman, a 35 year veteran in the entertainment industry, has an interesting background. A college professor, Army veteran, and small business owner, he believes his lifetime of experiences can help represent the changes needed coming from his district. Calling himself a Liberal Conservative, Truman says a vote for him is a protest vote, a vote against the current political system.

The Democratic party is not the party any longer of Kennedy and Truman”, says Truman. “I don't know what's happened to this party. The times have changed. Both parties need to work together to make things happen and get things done. A liberal is a person who is open minded to change. It's important to have an open mind to get things done. Ike Skelton represented our district for over 30 years, before it changed over to a Republican district. We need to get back to having a district where a Democrat can best serve the needs of our locals”.

Truman's main priorities will be Health and Education. “There are a lot of issues that are important to address”, says Truman. “Gun violence, a woman's right to choose and the economy are current issues that are more important than ever. But to me, our children are the most important thing. Children are our future. Their health and education need to come before anything. Protecting our children will be my number one priority in this campaign”.

It has also been announced that Truman will be running a virtual campaign. “In today's times with the coronavirus epidemic, it's important to keep people's health the main priority in this election. Life is the most important thing. Also, the future is digital. That's one thing we've learned from this pandemic. For the health and safety of our residents, I cannot in good conscience do an in-person campaign. For these reasons, this entire campaign will be virtual”.

The times are changing”, says Truman. We need to adapt to the times, while keeping our values, and be a political system for the people”.

Some of the Most Important Things

My name is Jack Truman.

I'm running for Congress.

And I'm for the people. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

Where do I start? There's so much that needs to change in our country. That's the primary reason I'm running. Most people are afraid of change. I welcome it. I'm not a politician. Just a regular guy trying to make a difference in this world. It's going to take regular people who are not politicians to go to Washington, shake things up and make changes in our world for the better.

Also, I'm a liberal conservative. Not your normal Democrat. The Democratic party is nothing like it used to be. This is no longer the party of Kennedy, Roosevelt and Truman. Most 'Democrats' today are radicals. They're not Democratic. They're not liberal. They're not open to change. A true liberal is a person who has an open mind, who changes based on what they learn. That's not the Democrats of today. I've learned so much over my life. I'm still learning. A person who wants to serve should always be learning, and be open to change for what best serves the people.

I'm just a regular guy, just like you, trying to make a difference.

I have a lifetime of experience and education. Over my life, I've been raised with traditional values which are in my roots. Growing up in the Ozarks, it's home. The Midwest drives the rest of the country. Our country is lost, and needs to get back to its roots. At the same time, we need to protect our citizens the best way we can for the future. There's a lot of ways we can do this. My lifetime of experiences have shaped me into the man I am today. 35 years of experience in the entertainment industry helps me understand the liberal side of our country. Being an Army veteran helps me understand and support our veterans and right to bear arms. Being a college professor helps me see and value the importance of education in our world. Coming from a small rural town makes me value the importance of the regular person. I've lived all over this country, and understand so many different cultures and lifestyles. There's so much we need to do, and can do, to make our world a better place.

Another important thing to understand is this political campaign for Congress is self-funded. I'm encouraging people not to donate to this campaign. There's a lot of reasons for this. Basically, it comes down to helping the people. It comes down to being for the people. Politicians are here to serve. It's not about the money. It's about how to best serve people. Washington is all about the money, and we need to change that. The best way I can do that is by leading by example. Don't give me your money. Use it for yourself and your family. Times are tough. You should be using your hard-earned money for food, gas and living expenses. If you don't need it for that, buy your kid an ice cream cone. Use your money to make you and your family's lifestyle better. I don't need it. I don't want it. Life is the most important thing. Food, gas and your kids. Life and family. It doesn't get simpler than that.

Remember this: I've got something that's free. It won't cost you a penny. Don't give me your money. Take your money and buy groceries, gas, or an ice cream cone for your kids. I don't want your money. I want you to use it for yourself and your family. What I want from you is free. It's your vote. Not your money. I don't want your money. I want your vote. That's free. It won't cost you a penny.

I'm for the people. It's important to give people a choice. One reason I'm running is to give you a choice. A vote for Jack Truman is a protest vote against this system. It's a vote for change. It's a vote for having someone truly serve you. It's a vote to have someone truly be for the people.

There's so much that needs to change in our country. It's a crazy world we live in today. These last 20 years, our country has got away from the most important things. Let's talk about some of the most important things. These include, but are not limited to our children, a woman's right to choose, the economy and our veterans.

Our children are the most important thing. Protecting our children is my number one priority. A lot falls under this. Basically, it comes down to health and education. Children need to be healthy and educated. They're our future. We need to prepare them for the future. Having a healthy, educated child makes all the difference. That's my primary focus.

I support a woman's right to choose. Period. Equal rights is a hot topic in our world. I'm a man. I shouldn't have any right to tell a woman what she can do with her body. The times are changing. We want equal rights for all cultures and lifestyles. It begins with us having the right to choose what we do with our body.

Our economy is worse than ever. Times are tough. Inflation is the worst it's ever been. Rising gas prices and rising food prices effect everyone. I'm going to do everything I can to help the regular person make it in this country.

Veterans are the backbone of our country. Being a veteran, I know the importance of service. Our veterans have given the ultimate sacrifice, sacrificing their bodies for our freedom. We need to return the favor by honoring our veterans and protecting them. No veteran should be homeless. No veteran should be worried about health care. Think about our veterans who are disabled. I'll make it my job to help veterans any way I can. Period.

These are just some of the most important things.

I'll make it my job to be for the people.

I'm Jack Truman. I'm running for U.S. Congress in Missouri's 4th Congressional District. I'm asking for your vote.

TRUMAN LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TRUMAN LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN

Liberal Conservative Launches Virtual Campaign for Missouri's 4th Congressional District

Lamar, Missouri – It's time for a change.

That's the reason Jack Truman is running for U.S. Congress. Truman, a lifetime Barton County resident, has announced his candidacy as the Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in Missouri's 4th Congressional District.

It's time for a change”, Truman said in press materials. “While it's time for a change, at the same time, we need to get back to tradition. It's time to get back to the way things used to be, while adapting to the changes in our time. It's going to take a political outsider, a regular person who has nothing to do with politics, to go to Washington and shake up this system”.

Truman, a 35 year veteran in the entertainment industry, has an interesting background. A college professor, Army veteran, and small business owner, he believes his lifetime of experiences can help represent the changes needed coming from his district. For the health and safety of our residents, I cannot in good conscience do an in-person campaign. For these reasons, this entire campaign will be virtual”.

Also announced is that Truman's campaign will be self-funded. “I will not be soliciting donations for this campaign”, says Truman. “If people want to contribute, they are welcome to. However, people in this district should not sacrifice contributions and donations in these times of inflation, where people are suffering from rising gas prices, rising food prices, baby formula shortages, and many other challenges. Keep your money if you have to. This campaign is not about the money. It's about servicing the people. That's the most important thing”.

Truman's main priorities will be Health and Education. “There are a lot of issues that are important to address”, says Truman. “Gun violence, a woman's right to choose and the economy are current issues that are more important than ever.
